A little star for your tree that started out as bottle top lids.

Buy one star, or a 5 or 10-pack. The more you buy, the less each star costs. Pick your colour or go Lucky Dip and let us choose a mix for you.

How it's made

The lids come to us through BRAD, the Banish Recycling and Diversion Program. We sort and clean them by hand. Then they're shredded, then pressed into shape at our workshop at Central Station, Sydney. Every star is one of a kind, so yours may look a little different from the photos.

Why it matters

Each star keeps 8 lids out of landfill and gives them a job you'll see every Christmas. They make good gift tags too.

The story

This Star Used to Be 8 Bottle Top Lids

Bottle top lids are small and often missed by kerbside recycling. We collect them through BRAD, the Banish Recycling and Diversion Program, and turn them into things you'll keep. This star is the simplest one. Eight lids, sorted by hand, shredded, then pressed into shape at our workshop in Sydney. Hang a few on the tree. Tie one to a present instead of a gift tag. Or thread a whole pack together for a garland. Then pack them away and do it again next year.

What customers say

Frequently asked questions

How big are the stars?

Each star is 7cm wide and about 1cm thick. It's a different, smaller star from the 9cm star in our Christmas Decoration Pack.

Do they come ready to hang?

Yes. Each star comes with a piece of rustic twine, so you can hang it on the tree, a wreath or a window straight away.

Is it cheaper to buy a pack?

Yes. Each star costs less in a 5-pack than on its own, and less again in a 10-pack. You'll see the price per star when you pick a pack size.

What's Lucky Dip?

You let us pick the colours for you. It's a surprise mix, and no two Lucky Dip packs are the same.

Can I make a garland with them?

Yes, and plenty of people do. Thread a pack onto some twine and you've got a garland. If you'd rather have it all in one box, our Star Garland kit comes with 10 stars and 3 metres of twine.
