Every lid has a story

Give your table a colourful refresh with napkin rings, candle holders, a bottle opener and a full entertaining set, all made from bottle top lids. Each Round napkin ring is made from about 7 lids, a candle holder from about 20 to 23, and the Entertaining Set from about 267 to 292. The counts are approximate, worked out by weighing each finished piece and dividing by 3 g per lid.

Because the flakes are never dyed, every piece carries its own flecks of colour and no two are exactly alike.

How it is made

  • Bottle top lids sorted by colour

    1. Lids sent in from across Australia

    Households post their bottle top lids to us through BRAD, the Banish Recycling and Diversion Program.

    Every lid is sorted by type and colour.

    The sorted lids are shredded down into flakes.
