Make your own Recycled Product at Churn Nights in Sydney
Turn trash into Treasure every Thursday evening at the Banish Sustainability Hub at Sydney's Central Station.
Looking for a unique way to spend your Thursday evening in Sydney? Welcome to Churn Nights – an exciting new public event where you can create your own recycled products from bottle tops while learning about sustainable living. Located at the Banish Sustainability Hub outside Central Station, this hands-on workshop is opening its doors to everyone for the first time.
What are Churn Nights?
Churn Nights is Sydney's newest sustainability experience, transforming the popular "Churn Tuesdays" social media series into an interactive public event. For two years, we've been showcasing unique colour combinations and recycling processes on Instagram and TikTok, and now you can experience the magic firsthand!
During each session, you'll witness the complete recycling process from start to finish, choosing your favourite colour combinations and creating beautiful, functional products entirely by hand. It's not just about making something cool – it's about understanding how everyday waste can become something valuable.
What can you make?
Recycled Carabiner
Perfect for keys, water bottles, or outdoor adventures, each handcrafted carabiner diverts 6-8 bottle tops from landfill. Choose from our range of vibrant colour combinations to create a unique accessory that tells your sustainability story.
Recycled Refillable Pen
Write your way to a more sustainable future with a pen made from recycled bottle tops! Each pen saves 6-8 bottle caps from ending up in landfill and comes with a refill, making it a practical choice for eco-conscious writers, students, and professionals. These are the same as our BRAD Recycled Pens, but using our OG extruder machine to make a gradient of your choosing (so they're extra unique)!

Beyond Bottle Tops: The Impact of the BRAD Recycling program
Every bottle top you use at Churn Nights comes from our Banish Recycling and Diversion (BRAD) program – Australia's leading hard-to-recycle waste solution. BRAD accepts items that regular recycling systems can't handle: plastic bottle tops, blister packs, empty beauty products, contact lenses, toothpaste tubes, and dozens of other household items that would otherwise end up in landfill.
When you purchase your recycled carabiner or pen, you're directly supporting this vital program that has diverted tonnes of waste (literally!) from Australian landfills.
Your small investment doesn't just give you a unique, handmade product – it funds the collection, sorting, and processing of hard-to-recycle items from households across Australia.
So come on down and visit us at the Banish Sustainability Hub, and turn trash into treasure at Churn Nights.
We can't wait to see you!
