Originally made in Florence, Italy during the renaissance, scented wax tablets were a take on the popular 'Pomander' which was worn around the neck, hanging from the wrist or belt.
A pomander is a ball of highly scented wax that was then contained in a beautiful, intricately carved, and sometimes bejeweled ornament made of precious metals.
This method was also used in 'tablet' form to scent clothing, bedding and even drapery by hanging in wardrobes, placing in drawers or chests or anywhere around the home.
These are a great alternative for people who don’t like room sprays and find reed diffusers messy, especially with kids or dogs in the home!
