Kids love bugs! And 5 Little Bears collection of 14 ecosystem information boards are a wonderful introduction to common insects and reptiles found in Australian backyards and how they help our gardens to grow. Each board is engraved, using NSW Foundation Font, with details of the insects name, where they live, what they eat and an interesting fact about them.  The beautiful images are printed on the outer side of the perspex, giving them a unique 3D effect. Timber stands are also included in the set, so you can have them sitting up on display or explore them on a lightbox.

Why not take them out into the garden to help discover the real thing! Using these boards is a great way to teach children about a gardens’ ecosystem – how a community of plants, animals and smaller organisms live, feed, reproduce and interact in the same area.

Educational Applications

Individual:

Use for individual interest, light table and interest table. To engage a child in conversation about his/her interest.

Group Setting:

Group time discussions about life cycles, habitats and prey. Use for transitioning to meal times when a child is called he/she can give you one fact they have learnt before going to prepare for their lunch.  This allows each child to participate in the learning activities and helps with memory through repetition. 

Outdoor:

Children can take outdoors and match items to what they find in their environment. Children can put on a display board and make it into a treasure hunt. Learning through play.

Made using 3 mm plywood and 3 mm perspex, this is an all Australian Made And Owned product.

Every piece of wood used is slightly different in colour, texture and grain. The naturally occurring imperfections seen in the timber (e.g knots, colour changes, etc) cannot be removed. These pieces of timber are cut on an engraver and will have slight burnt marks on the edges on some sides
