Important update

The cost of BRAD is increasing for the first time in 6+ years. Due to rising postage and operating costs we have made the difficult decision to increase our prices. From July 1 2026, here's what's changing:

  • 2kg digital label: $15 → $18
  • 2kg printed label: $18 → $23
  • 4kg printed label: $33 → $35

We're also phasing out all vouchers. From July 1, 2026 you will not earn a voucher for your recycling. The good news is the price of 4kg digital labels, BRAD Drop Offs and BRAD Mega Boxes is staying exactly the same. So if you've been sending in 2kg boxes, I'd encourage you to think about consolidating into a 4kg box, it's still $30 to recycle 4kg, we're just asking you to send in bigger boxes, less often. The Problem

Just 14% of Plastic Gets Recycled in Australia

Most household items are too small, made of too many mixed materials, or just too tricky for your kerbside bin. So they end up in landfill – even when you put them in the yellow bin with good intentions.

Toothpaste tubes, blister packs, coffee pods, bottle top lids – these everyday items need specialty recycling that most councils simply don't offer.

That's exactly why we built BRAD – the Banish Recycling and Diversion program. One of the largest hard-to-recycle programs in Australia.

Which Size?

Pick the Right Box for Your Recycling

Most people start with a Regular (shoe box). If you have been saving up for a while or want to send more, go Medium.

Size Weight Dimensions Price (Digital)
Regular (shoe box) Up to 2 kg 35 × 24 × 14 cm $15
Medium (beer box) Up to 4 kg 39 × 27 × 26 cm $30

Printed labels cost an extra $3. Choose Printed if you don't have access to a printer.

Questions?

Everything You Need to Know

What can I recycle with BRAD?
We accept items from any brand including: empty beauty and skincare products, toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, blister packs, coffee pods, bottle top lids, pumps and sprays, glasses and sunglasses, pens and markers, bread tags, contact lens cases, soy sauce fish, and more. If you are unsure, email brad@banish.com.au.
How do I get my label after purchase?
After purchasing, you will receive an email with a form. Fill it out when you are ready to send your box and your label will be generated instantly. If you chose Digital, you print it at home. If you chose Printed, we post it to your address. If you have not received the email within 2 hours, contact info@banish.com.au.
Which size should I choose?
Most people start with a Regular (shoe box size, up to 2 kg). If you have been collecting for a while or have bulkier items, go with Medium (beer box size, up to 4 kg). If your parcel is under 2 kg but physically large, you will need a Medium label. Parcels that exceed the size limits may incur additional fees.
Why does recycling cost money?
The fee covers the cost of specialty recycling for hard-to-recycle items, which require specialised processes and facilities that councils do not offer. Your contribution enables us to process these items responsibly on-shore in Australia, keeping them out of landfill.
Can I drop off instead of posting?
Yes! Our Sustainability Hub is at Sydney's Central Station, open Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. A drop-off is $10 per 2 kg. You can also volunteer to help sort recycling, sessions run every week.
What does BRAD not accept?
We cannot accept: prescription bottles, inhalers and asthma puffers, syringes, insulin pens, bottle top rings and spouts, plastic razors and blades, metal bottle tops, sponges, aerosol cans, perfume bottles, nail polish bottles, electronic items, or bio-hazardous waste.
I don't have a printer – can I still use BRAD?
Absolutely. You can select the Printed option (+$3) and we will post the label to you. Alternatively, you can take your digital label to an Australia Post, Officeworks, or library to print it.
