Writing this and reflecting on the year has been a bigger task than I realised. 2020 has thrown some unexpected curve balls our way, to say the least, but I am proud of how we've handled them and what a year it has turned out to be. Here are five of my top highlights:
1. My first TEDx Talk
In October I was able to tick off a major career goal and give my first TEDx talk.
Titled "the power of community in fighting climate change" I presented in person and virtually to over 1,000 people.
It was amazing to have so many people from our community submit photos of themselves so I was surrounded by you all on stage.
2. Releasing the Waste Less Workbook
In time for Plastic Free July, we launched the Waste Less Workbook - a comprehensive guide and interactive tool which helps people reduce their household waste.
This workbook is a download of everything that I have learned and is exactly what I wanted when I first started reducing my waste.
3. Welcoming over 15 new brands to the site
2020 saw us welcome over 15 brands and hundreds of new products to the store which saw us expand our beauty and kids ranges. Working with our amazing suppliers each and every day is one of my favourite parts of what I do.
Their enthusiasm and passion for sustainability is second to none and they are constantly pushing the limits and norm in the space.
4. Launching the Sustainability Further Podcast
This year in partnership with Charter Hall we released 20 podcast episodes with thought-leaders in the sustainability space.
Make sure you subscribe so that you don't miss out on season two which launches in early 2021.

5. BRAD kicked off with a bang!
In November we launched the Banish Recycling and Disposal Program aka BRAD with Terracycle to help Australians recycle those difficult to recycle items.
We've been overwhelmed by everyone's enthusiasm and I cannot wait to expand the program in 2021.
A huge thank you to each and everyone for making it a year that I won't forget and I can't wait to share our journey with you in 2021.
