Epsom salts are an old trick that is making a very trendy comeback. So before you jump on the bandwagon here’s what you need to know.
Epsom salts are best known for being a great source of magnesium. A long soak is recommended to improve muscle aches, sprains helps ease cramps and headaches as well as helping to improve sleep.
How to works:
The magnesium ions break apart from Epsom salt molecules to help promote the production of serotonin and reduce the effects of adrenaline. Magnesium also helps give you energy without causing any restless or anxious feelings.
Before all of your Epsom salts have dissolved in your bath rub them over damp skin to remove any dead skin cells.
Tip: Ladies around the time you get your period you are more likely to be lower in magnesium making it the perfect time for an Epsom salt bath.
